Which tantal keyhole
Let me restate what I was saying above, I was refering to the 5. I think the bullet would be further down on a 5. So yes passed the bullet drop clearly but, I would say it is not a 5. Good luck with that. Even then, it throws the occasional keyhole when it gets hot. I know a half dozen people with the same problem even later serial s The barrel is not original and not chromed. Century blames the ammo and will not take it back. Oh yeahand mine passed the drop test. Makerdy- That's strange most of the posts I have seen perform better withthe lighter grain rounds.
Have you performed the test pictured? My theory is that Century used up to three different barrels trying to resolve the issue. I also hypothesize that the middle range serials are the "luckiest" of the group. I believe I am in this serial range. However I have found many people that have had 0 problems at all. Sorry to hear about yours. I do not intend on sending it back. If I wanted accuracy I would have got a finicky AR type. I must restate that definitive evidince measurements, documentation, etc.

The main thing is, all articles I have been finding date back anywhere from years. Does anybody know if this has been corrected? As far as Century Arms, I know their rep, so please don't turn this into a bashing thread. It's actually more accurate than I would have expected. I've heard the twist barrels are good to go. Lots of speculation about serial number ranges, but I've always had 0 problems with the newer twist rifles. It was the issue of using U. I picked one up, it's a TTL-Cxxx serial number with a 1 in 8" twist. Not a bad little rifle.
