Does anyone like resident evil 6
While it's debatable whether having two-player co-operative play throughout pretty much the entire game helps or hinders Resident Evil 6 , the biggest frustration this creates if played solo is with the AI partner.
It isn't just that this partner constantly gets in the way or doesn't focus on important things that human players would be aware of. The biggest problem with the NPC companion is that sometimes they're actually essential to survival like with constant revivals or take the fun out of some big action moments. If the player picks the wrong character, for example, they might not get to drive a car in the big chase scene - and the AI handles it too perfectly, taking the tension away.
The debate over which game in the Resident Evil series is the best will continue to rage on amongst the fanbase, but certainly 's Resident Evil 4 is a safe and popular choice. The constantly-surprising campaign was tense, enjoyable, creepy, and reinvigorated the franchise. Resident Evil 5 backed down from a lot of what made its predecessor popular, which is why Capcom deliberately made Leon's campaign in Resident Evil 6 a tension-packed throwback to the series' horror roots - and probably the best chapter of the game.
The fourth and final campaign of Resident Evil 6 belongs solely to Ada Wong, the mysterious occasional-antagonist agent who has a flirtatious relationship with Leon Kennedy. It's the only non-cooperative single-player-only chapter in the game although optional co-op was patched in and, unfortunately, it's awful. It's mostly stealth-focused, which wouldn't be a problem except Resident Evil 6 is not a stealth game, and even simply taking cover is troublesome.
Most of the time the player will try to take out a soldier silently and fail because they couldn't see another soldier down the corridor, who instantly calls every enemy in the base to Ada's location until she dies and the player angrily restarts. In terms of sheer value for money, Resident Evil 6 is probably the best game in the series. A single playthrough of all four campaigns could easily take an experienced player around 30 hours to complete.
That's before taking into account co-op, Mercenaries mode, collecting all the game's hidden tokens, and buying all the combat upgrades. Plus, there's a lot of gameplay variety here too. The game's predictability and lack of inspiration makes each journey to get to the next boss a tedious one. RE6 contained far more fluid gameplay than any other game in the series, likely as part of the desire to appeal to new gamers.
The new combat system gave players more control over many of the mechanics, allowing them to easily manage their ammo and health and enjoy a wider range of control over their character's movements. While fighting off hordes of zombie monsters, players can slide, take cover, roll, and even shoot while running. For previous Resident Evil games, restrictions on gameplay mechanics helped craft their narratives into tense survival horror experiences.
Camera movement was limited, tools were scarce. When players jumped into an RE game, they knew they needed to remain tactical and on their toes if they wanted to make it out alive. By giving its players greater control of the game, RE6 arguably diminished their capacity to be frightened by it.
Thankfully for Resident Evil 7, it didn't follow in RE6 's footsteps. An executive producer of the series, Jun Takeuchi, swooped in and saved the franchise from certain failure. After the controversy of the previous title, continuing in the direction of Call of Duty wasn't going to keep the series afloat.
Realizing this, Takeuchi and the team decided to go back to the traditional survival horror angle of the game. By dropping the action-packed mechanics and focusing on horror, the designers aimed to take the previous mechanics and conventions that made Resident Evil scary and reinvent them in a modern way. Ultimately, the gameplay style of Resident Evil 6 was dropped, and Resident Evil 7 did a sharp back into horror territory.
Now more than two decades old, the Resident Evil series has accumulated a significant fanbase, which ranges from survival horror enthusiasts to Capcom addicts. Yet despite its devoted following, the jarring change in mechanics and gameplay of RE6 was enough to steer diehards off the franchise completely. The forced script and terrible level design diverted the PC gamers Capcom hoped to attract, and the disorderly campaigns and repetitive scenes left fans cringing throughout the entire game.
Although Resident Evil 6 got some appreciation for trying , it was ultimately loathed. The title aimed to tap into multiple genres and sent just about everyone running for the hills. In hindsight, even a Senior Vice President at Capcom has admitted that Resident Evil 6 needed a heavy readjustment in order to be considered a good game. During the making of Resident Evil 7, he stated he was well aware the previous game was "bloated" beyond its capacity. Resident Evil 7 could only hope to correct that.
The game proved to be a return to form for the series. My mother bought it for me even though she knew it was a mature game. My brother was 17 and I was I love Resident Evil 6 as it's has more of the elements of Resident Evil than 4 or 5. Lots of nostalgia value here. It's not survival horror, but after playing 1 and 2 nothing Resident Evil did could scare me.
I had a blast with 4, but other than them bringing Leon back, this really wasn't Resident Evil to me I accepted the chage and loved it, but it was different aside from good graphics and tank controls. I mean excellent game, but they didn't go back to survival horror, but there was no reason to at that time.
They knew the old scares didn't work on long time fans any more. Might as well try to get the adrenaline pumping in different ways. If 5 would have been my first Resident Evil game, I probably would have never been a fan, despite the fact that sold the best out of the series and alot of people's first entry into Resident Evil. Not perfect, but for the longest time I thought they were pure hard-headed for holding the controls back, especially since they did something revolutionary with controls with Devil May Cry.
Had a blast with 6, but overall it probably won't hold the same value as some of the other ones over nostalgia. This game does what it does well, but it's not revolutionary like 4. After testing 4 again, I know 6 is much better, but in memory, 4 will stand out as something I hadn't experienced before. I've talked to quite a few long time Resident Evil players and it seems to me rather than being fans of Resident Evil, they are genre fans of survival horror.
They confuse Resident Evil with an old genre which it hasn't been in over 10 years. If you think this is an awesome game, you deserve to be kicked off a forum. It means your intellect is too low for you to belong or have any purpose being there.
It's like having a Twilight fan or religious fanatic in the room; they don't belong, and you just want them out before their ignorance and retardation spreads or starts huge senseless flame wars. There's no talking sense into them, so you just want them to leave. That's the reality we're in. Sadly forums always have people on them that can't grasp an obvious reality in front of their face or refuse to believe it out of some misplaced loyality or lack of standards.
I can go anywhere, any forum, and they exist. They either type gibberish English, can't grasp simple concepts without being biased, or both. Flame this if you like; but this is all the truth. Then you've also got things like polotics, which should be banned from most forums just because they're too debateable for either side.
Like if someone wanted to decide whether or not to vote for Obama in here; it doesn't matter if he's a saint or the anti christ, it'd start a huge pointless derailing irrelevant flame war. While RE5 was an amazing game; that was RE6 came out in , and did practically nothing new.
All it did was slightly improve the controls, gut an inventory system everyone liked in exchange for a worse one, ruin the A. And I played the 2 SC titles. Keep that in mind. But the game itself is still fun to play if you just block out all the stupid in the story and dialogue. It's especially good as a Co Op action game.
