How does daphne finally escape apollo

Daphne tells her father, Peneus a river god , that she wants to always be a virgin like the goddess Artemis Apollo's twin sister, Diana to the Romans. Peneus tells his daughter that she owes him some grandchildren. She keeps begging, though, and Peneus agrees to his daughter's request, telling her that she'll never have to get married.

However, the river god cryptically adds, "Your own face will forbid it. Anyway, thanks to Cupid's shenanigans Apollo is now totally in love with Daphne. He chases her all around the woods, trying to convince her of how completely awesome he is. Daphne is not having it, however, and just keeps on running. Eventually, Apollo catches up with the beautiful nymph. When he just about has her, Daphne calls out for her father to help her.

Peneus does what any concerned father would do — he turns his lovely daughter into a tree. Yep, before Apollo can get to her, Daphne is encased in bark, rooted to the ground, and has sprouted leaves. He let her, and he brushed the drunken tears from her cheeks. He held her hand and walked her back to her little home in the forest, giving her a gentle 3 a. All this from a complete stranger, and a god at that.

Daphne was hopeful. So sex can be this good. Men can be this good. Who knew. After this, Daphne kind of gave her body away to Apollo to manipulate how he liked.

He was a smooth dude, and Daphne basically did as she was told. After all, she was brand new at this. Everything about her he loved: her ass, her lips, her breasts, her skin, her teeth, her pussy. He told her what it felt like to be inside of her. Like something worth talking about. She coveted this admiration, this fascination with her body that no one before him had ever expressed. She felt like an absolute treasure, no longer ashamed of her mortality.

She absolutely indulged in that shit—all the undivided attention he gave to her. He liked watching her face when he played with her clit, and she liked watching him right back. He wanted to see her reactions; she wanted to see how much these reactions pleased him. It turned him on, feeling her shiver all over and hearing her cry out while her face morphed into contortions of electric joy. She relished in the new sensations he showed to her.

She had always wanted to be wanted like this. She wanted the pleasure, the admiration, but she knew things between them could only exist in a bed. And now she was curious—she wanted to branch out. Find other gods or nymphs or centaurs to drive her wild.

For example from the back of the statue, both figures in the sculpture look human and all that is available to see of Daphne is her right leg. From this angle the branches of the tree are visible but only at the very top, so it seems as though they are simply standing next to a tree.

As the viewer moves to the right, now it is evident that the second figure is a women, and her whole right side is visible. It is also evident by the expressions on their faces that Daphne is trying to escape Apollos grasp. As the viewer continues to move around the piece that whole scene now becomes clear. Also from this perspective on-lookers see Apollo now has reached her because his hand is on her waist. As the story tells, Daphne was set on a being single because she had no interest in being united with one of the gods.

The god Eros shot Apollo and Daphne both with arrows to make them fall in love with each other however the arrow did not have much affect on Daphne because she still had no interest in committing her life with someone. One day Apollo was so struck with love that he chased Daphne and finally had her in his arms. It is then that Daphne starts to call out to her father, Peneus, to save her from being taken away by Apollo.

Peneus grants her wishes and miraculously turns her into a Laurel tree so that she cannot be moved. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account.
