Should i buy a willys jeep
The Ford will command a small premium over the Willys because there were less made. All the ford parts including the bolts had the flying F stamped on them. The earlier model you can get the better. This type of Jeep will always be in demand by enthusiasts and very unlikely to go down in value.
Some 22, were given to the French army by the Americans after the war. It will have most likely been fitted with Hotchkiss parts, ranging from a Hotchkiss body tub or a French engine and other mechanical parts, maybe just a few small parts. So take care. There is nothing wrong with these Jeeps as long as you are told when you buy it and it is reflected in the price.
A Jeep that has been imported from France has a very good chance of having non Willys or Ford parts. M Hotchkiss Jeep, these are very well built and reliable vehicles.
Made between and some 27, Ms were produced. Everyone thanks for the nice comments on my 3B story. Here is a holiday photo with a wreath on the Jeep. It reminds me of the jeep army trucks I used to play with as a kid. My grandmother had a green bag of army trucks that she would open up, lay on the floor and play with me. They were some of the best and memorable times. More recently we were driving in our car slowly up a snow covered hill on Route 1 by Cheney, PA.
We made out fine but the Jeeps had no problem going up the hills. My wife said the next car she gets will be a Jeep. Yes, I am looking forward to being able to play with a Jeep again. Great story about a grand old Jeep.
My first Jeep was CJ 3B. That was back in High hood ugly??? Naw I called it distingtive. My latest. Willys is a Stake body truck. It looked good when I bought it, but I knew it needed a lot of work. However I bought it for a good price knowing it was a project! Owning a Willys is a way to hold on to a period of time we will never see again. When America was strong and we manufactured good affordable vehicles that will be around forever.
Stupid check engine lights. I would rather drive 45 mph and freeze my ass off than buy any of the new cars today. Everytime I look at a Willys it brings a smile to my face. Great Story. One of the stories I have in my heart is how great the Jeep was when my daughter was growing up. She used to play in it, pretending she was the driver…just like dad. Awesome story! I have had many early jeeps in my life and used every one of them. A jeep life is a great life, Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful story! I enjoyed reading it. I have a similar jeep story. It is interesting how these old vehicles become a member of the family in a way. Kept for years and handed down to loved ones.

Click on to find out what it's actually like. First, some quick history. In need of some small but tough battlefield machinery in World War II, the US Army laid out a pretty tricky set of criteria and invited companies to offer their ideas. Criteria such as strict maximum dimensions and a kerb weight lower than kg, yet load capacity of at least kg. A company called Willys-Overland was among those interested. The resulting Willys Quad actually weighed a bit too much, but then so did rival offerings from Ford and Bantam.
The army upped the weight limit, commissioned 1, of each, before Willys was selected as the primary supplier. Driving a car made in , like this example, is always going to present a learning curve.
