Where is the shaperate in orzammar

When you speak with him, you'll learn that a lowlife thief came into the Shaperate and walked away with one of the Shaperate's precious tomes. And naturally, he wants it back. He gives you some hints on where the thief might be located, and then goes about his business. It's time to get that book back. When you finally gain access to The Proving all of it, not just the entrance area , you'll ultimately be assaulted by a crew of thugs when you're exploring.

This group of weaklings is led by the thief himself, a dwarven male named Fixer. Fight him and his group of cronies -- they should be easy enough for your party to slaughter with little trouble -- and be sure to scour all of their bodies once the fight has concluded, since one of them will have the stolen tome on his person. His corpse will have the Proving Receipt, which indicates that he pawned the tome off to somebody in the Proving Grounds. I then head over to the Proving Grounds. On the north side will be some thugs.

A fight ensues as soon as I click on their leader. I easily overwhelm them as well. But in reality, in certain cases the Memories had been concealed from the public [5] or even rewritten completely. The main role of the Shaperate of Memories is to record in lyrium on the Wall of Memories: [7] the authoritative collection of information on dwarven society spanning thousands of years.

On a daily basis, they oversee births, marriages and death records. Shapers are expected to venture far and wide to gain knowledge with which to add to the Memories. All knowledge of dwarven history and current events is considered of value and Shapers are expected by their peers and the traditions of the Shaperate to seek it out. The Shaperate is the main source of learning in Orzammar, and as such is critical to the research of dwarven scholars. Dwarves of any caste can also make use of the Shaperate archives, [13] perhaps even the casteless are permitted inside.

In addition, the Shaperate of Memories regulates the changes in Orzammar's structure and society. Since they are considered apolitical and objective, the Shaperate advises the Assembly on matters of procedure and precedent. Members are called upon to act as judges in disputes.

However, in extremely sensitive matters—such as the murder of a member of the royal family, or determining whether a dwarf shall be declared a Paragon —such responsibilities fall to the Assembly.

Note that what the Shaperate records is the truth according to the Shaperate and it is not necessarily the unvarnished reality. The Shaperate has the authority to strike from the Memories anything "unworthy" or against the interests of dwarven society. For example, the Shaperate never records anything related to the casteless, not even recording the births of casteless children.
